New Poussez E.P on Artizan Music

Originally slated for AreaSur in Argentina, we decided to release our next E.P ourselves, on Artizan Music. With 'Spawn' its sort of Metro Area meets Kirk Degiorgio feel, you know tender tough sort of sound, whilst 'Modern Identity' rocks a controversial speech between a well known politician and film maker around a simple deep house groove.

We hope you likey. Is out mid march!

Poussez @ Brickhouse Feb 20th

Advance date for your post detox diaries electronic buddies, (enough with the broccoli colonics, non?) Artizan Music's moist and warm label session Uptownboogiedown grooves back into gear SAT FEB 20TH...

2009 was a fantastic year for our parties, joining forces as we did with heavyweights Mulletover, Retox, Lovebox, Disco Geisha, in addition to some kick-ass events at East Village, Notting Hill Arts Club and The Egg. Pepe Bradock, Manoo, Charles Webster, Atjazz, Demarkus Lewis and DJ Deep all rocked the joint alongside us...

So, Feb 20th, we move to new venue Brickhouse, a great three floor space adjacent to 93ft East and the Vibe bar on Brick Lane. It has a heated outdoor terrace, plus a brand new booming FUNCTION ONE soundsystem!! Yeah!! We join forces with our latest signing Deporto and their night 'Finale' for the official launch party of their 'Solar Stripes E.P' out now on Artizan Music. Deporto and Poussez in the headline slot with support from Jerk's Toby Phickle and Pej the unstoppable prince of Persia!

Its been a while Oh sweet and tender children of the night, we've so missed you, but whilst we've been busy missing you, we've also been busy being er, busy..so a belated Happy new Year from Poussez and we hope Santa made all your wettest dreams come true..

Our Artizan Music label has been keeping us occupied of late with new signings, releases, remixes and of course this rather tasty and delicious, full-fat, fortnightly Podcazt. Launched in December, the show alternates bi-weekly between Jafar in Sweden and Maxime Cescau in London. The Artizan Podcazt gives you the chance to join us upfront, close and personal, like a hot date with granny, only with less lip hair. You can hear all the latest from the imprint, our studio doodlings, remixes and some great guest mixes from label artists and friends...its powerful.

New release on Artizan Music

artmd010large

Aloha! Our next release is fresh off the belt and, although Stripped Digital wanted it, we decided to put it out on our own label. We've not put anything on Artizan Music for a while, as we've been concentrating on showcasing some of the decent talent around (shouts to Pete Dafeet and latest signing Nacho Marco :) . Thankfully all our latest nuggets have been getting the big thumbs up and snatched up by other labels before we had time to schedule them for Artizan, sooooo, it was time to head back to the homeland! ' The Waves ' drops on Artizan Music at the end of November  - check out DJ feedback below :)

Poussez at Notting Hill Carnival 09

utbd vs disco geisha carnival 09

After spending two days transforming the Notting Hill Arts Club into an indoor summer meadow at last years Notting Hill Carnival (we'd rather not see another piece of astroturf again, thanks), it seemed downright illegal not to bring the pressure back to the UK's largest street festival for 09..

So here we are, taking UPTOWNBOOGIEDOWN back West for one special day only. We step things up another notch this year, partnering with our good friends DISCO GEISHA, run by the brilliant Tomoki Tamura (anyone remember him joining Jafar, Maxime and Andy at Neighbourhood a while back, will know how much this boy slams it. With a wealth of tracks on the likes of Four: Twenty & Satoshi Tomie's Saw imprint, it comes as no surprise)..

Sadly, we must mention again, our loveable Maxime Cescau is on tour that weekend, so, representing the Artizan alongside the main man Jafar, will be the welcome return of man like Toby Phickle from the excellent Jerk Parties (the bump, the roll, the jack, the jerk..). Meanwhile, Tomoki will be joined by his ace residents Eightbitrate, Naoki Shimizu, Supermethod and many more. There's also live percussion from Lil Dom and Carnival Sushi from Juzu!! Nuff said!

Kick off is 4pm on Carnival Monday AUGUST 31ST and runs till 1am. Its free entry before 6pm and a reasonable £6 till 8pm, more thereafter. BUT BE WARNED...with an average 2million people at Carnival every year, venues fill up quick smart. We were one in one out by 6pm last year so don't leave it too late!!

AND DON'T FORGET YOUR WHISTLE!!!!!!!!!!!

OUR NEXT RELEASE UP ON ARTIZAN MUSIC: PETE DAFEET 'LOSING THE DOG E.P' (POUSSEZ'S FOREVER DREAMING MIX)

Poussez Downflow EP on Artizan Music

We dropped this on our very own Artizan Music label which we run with Andy Touchfingers. Its a chunky three tracker to get your asses waggling. 'Bounce & Flow', 'Harmony' and 'Down On My Knees'

'Down On My Knees' is a deep and chordy track with a beautiful preacher telling you to GET DOWN!
'Bounce and flow' is a meandering percussive workout whilst (here's a little home fact for you pop pickers), 'Harmony' was the first track we ever made together, buy it and treasure it like a Lionel Richie 7inch.
